Pat Murphy was elected to the Legislature of Prince Edward Island in the provincial election held on May 28, 2007. A Liberal MLA, he was elected to represent the constituency of Alberton - Roseville.
Pat is a local business owner-operator of the Alberton Irving, community volunteer and former Mayor of Alberton.
Over the last number of years, Pat has worked on a number of positive developments for the Alberton area, including a downtown enhancement project, Jacques Cartier arena renovations, relocation of town offices to the historic railway station, a new federal building on Main Street and a youth skateboarding facility.
In addition to his contribution to municipal government, Pat has served as a member of the Alberton Area Development Corporation, was a Director of the Tignish Credit Union, and is a strong supporter of the Alberton Minor Hockey Association among other charities.
Pat lives in Alberton with his wife, Karen, and son, Drew.
