1by1McIsaacAlan McIsaac was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island in the provincial election held on May 28, 2007. A Liberal MLA, he was elected to represent the diverse riding of Vernon River - Stratford.

 

Alan is a dairy farmer and small business operator. He has held many leadership roles in the dairy industry at the provincial, regional, and national levels over the past 32 years, including chairing the Provincial Milk Marketing Board and as the Atlantic Canada Director on the Board of Holstein Canada. He also served on the Executive of the P.E.I. Federation of Agriculture. Alan’s insight into the agriculture industry has given him deep connections to key people and organizations that drive our main industries on P.E.I.

Alan believes in community and he’s devoted a great deal to the betterment of Vernon River - Stratford. Alan’s community work includes: the Home & School Associations of Glen Stewart and Charlottetown Rural; the Cross Roads Community Fire Department; various church committees; Pownal Rink Association; Farmers Helping Farmers; Habitat for Humanity; and coaching baseball and hockey.

Alan and his wife, Joanne (Kamphuis, have four sons, Andrew, Joshua, Stephen and Michael.
